Correction on the issue date of the Missouri Historical Review...it is the January edition (Volume 101, No. 2). Sorry about that. For my first-hand references (from the Second Colorado) of the action at Camden Point, I primarely used Captain George West's post-war memoir/account (commanding Co "F"), who lead the advance guard of the attack. Of course, I used Colonel James Ford's reports(who was overall in charge of the attack that day)also. Jennison's men and the Ninth MSM were also part of the attack, and I also used many references from them. Unfortunetly, I do not have Childs. But, if you find it, I would be interested.
