John Thanks, that makes sense. My grandfather had a very private life. He would not talk about his past. My grandfather said his father's name was George and mother went by Manda, this is on his death certificate but no last name. My grandfather went by atleast 5 different names. The name I remembering my grandfather using was John Wesley Rippy, but through FamilyTreeDNA and my 79 year old father's DNA have found out that our name was Wigington-Wigginton. My grandfather lived in a cave when my dad was 9 years old for about 18 months, this is document in Decatur Co. Tn. Frank and Jessie also lived here under assume names. My dad said about once a year a very dark Indian use to come and visit his dad and mom, he went by Frank James. My dad said that he used some kin of signal to let my grandfather know he was coming to the cave before he got there. What I have read about Quantrill's Men and George W. "Bud" Wigginton is that George is not listed as having children. Still working on the puzzle. Dottie
