Evault, Mr. Schmidt is correct that there isn't a need for controversy here. Whether a photo of such a prominent person as Sam Hildebrand would stay out of the public eye for almost a century (i.e. the Breihan photo) or, especially, 135 years (i.e. the Murdock photo), speaks volumes in its own right. Perhaps Mr. Schmidt will provide us with a provenance for the photo he feels looks like Mr. Hildebrand and an explanation regarding why it would lay secreted for so many years. One daughter of Hildebrand, who lived into the middle of the 20th century, is reported by a close relative to have stated that Hildebrand never had a photo taken.
