Otterville/Lamine River Bridge

The City of Otterville, MO will celebrate its sesquicentennial on Saturday, August 25, 2007. At 2:00 p.m. there will be a historical re-enactment of the locally celebrated "Otterville Treaty." The gist of the "treaty" between local State Guardsmen and occupying federal forces was that there would be no fight over the Lamine River bridge of the Pacific Railroad, and everyone would go home instead. This event {or non-event} has often been referenced as "the affair at Otterville". Does anyone out there have any specifics about this incident? I would like to attend the event Saturday and not have to pretend that I know something about it. Thanks JTK
