I am looking for information about the casualties among the 39th MS Inf from summer 1862 in Vicksburg. My ggggrandfather died in 1862 in Vicksburg, and he was a member of Company H of the 39th (Waller Quarles Terry b.1829). All sources I have found say that only one of ours was killed and only one other wounded during that time frame. My kin didn't enlist until May 5, 1862, and they were only in Vicksburg for a short while before heading north toward Memphis. Who knows...he may have passed due to natural causes. (But he was only 33)
