Re: CPT - Later Major Abner Reed
In Response To: Re: Rose Hill ()

I ma searching for information on Major Abner Reed.

MY Great Grandfather and Great Grand uncle joined the 5th Missippi at Fern Springs, MS sometime in 1861.

My Great Grandfather JP Mc Graw and my Great Uncle TH Mc Graw are shown on the roles as having joined his command at Fern Springs Store and from there we totally lost track of the Mc Graw brothers. Neither came back but we never learned their fate.

If you have any information on the 5th Mississippi, Petus
Company E, we would be greatful. We have a family burial plot of Confederates in Louisville, Ms and would like to bring these two individuals home if we can locate them.

A letter indicates the brothers were serving with friends and many neighbors of the community including RW Carter , officer and a family friend Samuel Eaves.

Sincerely

James E. Mc Graw
