Some of the Witherspoon family from Mississippi, came on to central Arkansas. They-father and son I believe it was, were CSA officers. A Capt. I think he was, "Mac" McCrary of the 43rd Miss. followed them and later married Miss Witherspoon leaving a long family history to be admired and appreciated.
Anyway, take my word they made it and did quite well after the war.
I knew their descendants.
