Pvt Willis Ramsey, 3rd (McQuirk's) Regiment, MS Ca

My gg grandfather, Willis Ramsey enlisted under Forest's command in 1862 in Pittsboro, Calhoun County, MS. The 3rd Regiment, MS Cavalry under command of Col McQuirk was organized on 3 June 1863. On 30 April 1864 MS State Cavalry assembled at Tupelo and was mustered into Confederate service as Co. A, 3rd Reg, MS Calvary at Oxford and continued to be commanded by Col McQuirk and Willis Ramsey served in the unit throughout the War. He was discharged some time after the end of war and lived in or around Calhoun, Tallahatchie, Yalobusha and Lafayette counties until the early 1880's when he and part of his family moved to Texas. Part of his family remained in Mississippi in Lafayette County. I know he originally moved into Mississippi in the 1840s from South Carolina probably via Alabama. I have not been able to trace his ancestry back and am wondering if any one reading this message board may have had ancestors who served in his Cavalry Unit and might have any records of this man. Any help will be appreciated.
