20th MS Inf. casualties in TN

While researching the casualties of the 43rd MS Inf. in the Middle TN Campaign, I ran across the following account of the casualties of the 20th MS Inf. in the same campaign. Both units were in Adams' Brigade of the AOT. I am posting these 20th MS Inf. casualties here (on Jim Martin's fabulous site!) because, though I may be grossly mistaken, I have never seen TN Campaign casualties for any unit in Adams' Brigade. I hope posting this helps other researchers, though it doesn't do Jack Squat for the gallant boys of my precious 43rd MS Inf.! Researchers of AOT units would be well-advised to search through the Mobile "Register and Advertiser" and the Mobile "Army Argus and Crisis" for casualty figures, as both of these newspapers published many casualty lists during the war! --Jim Huffman, 43rd MS

PS: If anyone has any casualties for the 43rd MS Inf. from 8/30/64 till war's end, PLEASE contact me!

CAUSUALTIES IN THE 20TH MS INFANTRY IN TENNESSEE

[Note: This is the only listing of casualties I have ever seen for any regiment in Adams' Brigade for the Middle Tennessee Campaign. We can surely assume that the 43rd MS suffered somewhat similar casualties, as the 43rd was in every engagement the 20th MS was in. I think that this casualty list is an important find for our research, as it gives us a circumstantial, ballpark figure for casualties in our own 43rd, though surely a one-for-one ratio of casualties in not wholly accurate.]

from the Army Argus and Crisis, Mobile, Alabama (successor to the Daily Southern Crisis, published at Jackson, MS, and the earlier Missouri Army Argus, published in Missouri), February 18, 1865
