Fort's Scouts

I am trying to find any info I can about this small unit. Only 62 men listed on the roster, with Captain Clinton Fort as there leader. They spent most of the war operating in Mississippi under General Chalmers. In March, 1865 they were convinced by Colonel Robert (Black Bob) McCulloch (McCulloch's Cavalry Brigade) to join the 2nd Missouri Cavalry to avoid the hangman's noose. What little info I have on this unit is on my website. They were a C.S.A. unit vice MS state. Some of the men were from or settled in MS after the war. Thank you in advance of info.
