W.R. Wadsworth

My g grandfather is W.R. Wadsworth, and according to his pension claim he enlisted at Brandon, Mississippi, in February or March, 1864, with Company G, 1st Mississippi Artillary. He was captured at the battle of Blakely, and taken prisoner to Ship Island. The peonsion application indicates W.R. was paroled "on or about May 1865." I am interested in any information about the above mentioned regiment, Ship Island, and W.R. Wadsworth. I am writing a family history, and I am focussing in this area.
