The T. V. Belew of the 31st Mississippi is actually
James V. Belew of Co. B. He enlisted in March of 1862 in Coctaw County. Appointed Ensign in June 1864. He was severely wounded in "right forearm and head" at Peach Tree Creek. He was sent to Ocmulgee Hospital in Macon and died there in either July or August 1864.
