That explains why one of my great-great uncles enlisted in the Union Army in Illinois - I found him as a Confederate soldier and as a Union soldier; later found him in the 1900 census in Indian Territory. In 1910 he is in Holdenville, OK as a Justice of the Peace. Interesting!!!
