In Response To: ATTN: 7th MIss. gang ()

Jamie, I have lost several email messages lately. I know I received that email, but can't find any responses or back up information. Please resend and make sure the sender knows to contact me so I can get more info for the record.

As for the ET Dunn letters. I have no problem with you posting them because they belong to everyone who cares about the 7th Miss. We can add them to the history even after they are posted. I would like a copy and a chance to dig into them a little, but until then go with it. Are they transcribed copies or copies of the originals?

As to how he could have been a POW at Munfordville:

After the union garrison surrendered, for several days the wounded and those supporting them were under the protection of Chalmers Brigade, but there was a joint involvement by the union garrison since Cave City was not held as the army moved toward Perryville and eventually retreat from KY.

Many men who were left in the homes, hospitals and railroad depots were taken to Louisville and then to Cincinnati and on to Illinois. My cousin Ferdinand Griffin, 7th Miss. was one of those men. He survived an amputation of his arm, prison camp to return to Miss. safely where he became a school teacher at Zion Hill.
