One of my GGGgrandmothers had her home burned because she had so many sons and sons-in-law in the Confederate Army. She was in her 70s, she had daughters and daughters-in-law living with her, most with children. Took them out of the house in the middle of the night, in Dec. leaving them with nothing but their bed clothes, and burned it. These sorry wastes of air were in a raiding party that was coming to Calhoun County on a pretty regular basis from their camps in Oxford. They finally got their just desserts when they were caught and killed by the Home Guard and those soldiers furloughed home to mend from wounds. They set a trap for them at the crossing of the Skuna River back into Yalobusha County, attacked them, killing all of them. Hasta la vista
