Mitchell,
Thank you, sir, for this great information. I've been to Gaines' Mill and other fields of the 'Seven Days,' and met with the park ranger at Gaines' Mill. He found a record of Randle's death, but not of his final resting place. I assume he may have been buried 'hastily' then removed to Hollywood in a more dignified fashion. His body servant was given a pass and returned Capt. Blewett's personal effects to his father in Columbus, MS, including sword, gold watch, some money, and most importantly, his company's Battle Flag. The family donated it to the MS State Archives in about 1930, for permanent display. It was on loan at Beauvoir when Katrina came thru, but I understand it was protected. If anyone is interested in the flag, its appearance, etc. please let me know. It's a magnificent flag.
Rgds,
Robert Crook
PS...There is also a true story of Randle's death bed will which I have a copy of, and was probated in Lowndes Co. MS court several months after his death.
