WIRT ADAMS' "TOMBSTONE" NOT HIS GRAVE...

Ooooppsss...perhaps not clear in my posting. The May 5, 1864 "Tombstone" of Wirt Adams I am referring to is NOT his grave (although I would like to know where is buried). The May 5, 1864 "Tombstone" refers to the stand his cavalry made against Sherman's massed corps just outside Clinton on that day (see my earlier posting & URL for details).

Someone told me that it is near a fruitstand and large cemetery (interesting combination) just East of Clinton near the railroad tracks...????

Thanks for your help,

y.o.s.,

Kenneth Byrd
