7th Regt. Miss. Inf. History

Hello to all my fellow researchers and friends. For those who have not seen my messages on the other Mississippi Civil War message boards, I say join us and help us to remember our Southern Patriots and the sacrifices they made for their families and country.

My research focuses on the men and boys of the 7th Miss. Vols./7th Regt. Miss. Inf. Any and all information relating to their pre war, wartime and post war lives is of value in the writing of their regimental history.

Our goal is to publish their regimental history as a biographical essay written in their words and from the viewpoint of a great great grandson, nephew and cousin of men in four companies of the regiment.

At this time we have over ten letter collections, four diaries, a near complete roster for all companies as well as a chronological listing of their locations throughout the War.

Appendices, indexes are already available for several of the letter collections and diaries and a thorough bibligraphy and index will be included to aid in searches for anscestors.

We are also collecting samples of documents used by these men, pension records, requisitions for supplies, requests for furloughs as well as photos.

We welcome "look ups" for serious researchers as well as genealogical queries.

We always need volunteers to review rosters, transcribe letters and documents and to edit material.
