Re: 7th Miss Infantry Battalion, Co. G

Hi Richard,
My gg grandfather died in the civil war around 1863. He has a very "ugly" headstone on his grave that apparently someone wrote his name in while the cement was still wet. I would like to place a foot marker that would be more appropriate. I have the papers to fill out and send to the gov. for a free marker. I was wondering what would be appropriate for laying this marker in honor of him & his service. Do the members of this re-enactment Battalion perform any service for this? Also, do you have any suggestions about sending for the marker?
Thanks for you reply.
Sincerely,
Rose Watts
gg granddaughter of John Lampkin Hatton
