Co C, Mississippi 14th Confederate Cavalry

I am seeking information of Co C, 14th Confederate Cavalry of Mississippi. I have two Farnham ancestors named John Daniel Farnham. One was Uncle and the other was nephew of the other. The older John Daniel served in the Summit Rifles, or Co A, 16th Mississippi Volunteer Infantry, and was discharged in 1862 for unstated medical reasons. The younger John Daniel Farnham also served(about 14 years of age) in Camp Guard, Camp of Instruction for Conscripts in Brookhaven, Ms.

JD Farnham is found serving in Co C, 14th Miss. Confederate Cavalry. He was mustered in Nov 7, 1863 in Summit, Ms by WH Thomas. JD was soon promoted to Corporal and later to Sergeant. He was wounded at the Battle of Harrisburg or Tupelo, Miss., later surrendured at Citronelle, Ala and paroled May 12, 1865 at Gainesville, Ala.

We may never know for sure which John Daniel Farnham served in the Cavalry, but feel that the older must have recovered from his illness and rejoined the fight. It seems unlikely that a youngster, as the younger John Daniel, would have been promoted to Sargeant at such an early age.
If someone has more information of Co C of the 14th Cavalry, please let me know. I appreciate all efforts to learn the truth. Thanks,

Wilson Farnham
