John Morris died at 2:00 on April 6, 1862 at Shiloh from a wound to the head. He was on the "Left Wing". He also had a brother, William, who served in the same unit who died at Marion County, Mississippi in May of 1862. Neither were married nor had children according to the affidavits of their father, Alfred Morris.
