Hello George,
Over 200 pages of this massive work are devoted to company rosters in the style of Manarin & Jordan "North Carolina Troops, l86l l865: A Roster". Information is provided about enlistment, service, pay, hospital stays, prison, and sometimes death claim & burial place and date.
There are 5 Halberts listed; all in company E. One man, listed as Third Sergeant Albert J. Halbert may actually be Alexander J. Halbert since their promotion dates match and no further info is provided for Albert. There is almost a page of information on the four Halberts in the roster. Also there are quite a few mentions in the text of them: Henry has the most with 16 (including several letter exerpts - one about Jimmie's death), James (Jimmie)the least with two.
I found the book on eBay at a great price.
Good luck,
Manassas
