Gentlemen;
While researching the MS McMath', I obtained a CMSR on William Augustus McMath, Co. E 15th MS Inf. at the State Archives in Jackson. He was listed by several different first names, but these records made it seem to be one person.
Upon returning to my home in Georgia, I made a trip to the new Archives Complex(NARA and GA State Archives next door to one another)at Morrow,GA. On a whim, I looked up William at on the NARA Microfilm. Not only were there several more muster cards,including different ages shown, but other info leading me to think that there were at least two William McMaths in this unit. If anyone else has encountered such discrepancies, let me know which to trust, if any! Sorry for the length but Thought Yall would like to know.
