McMath Graves

Fellow Southrons,

I recently returned from an excursion to the Duck Hill, Carrollton, Winona area. I must say people in that area are some of the nicest I have ever come across.

Now to my Quandry; according to the compiled service records at NARA in Atlanta, John H. McMath, age 34,enlisted in Co. G 22nd MS infantry August 1861. His Nephew, Josephus, aka Joseph H.,enlisted in Co. C 5th MS Cavalry in 1862. Fine so far.
Another source, The Mississippi Confederate Grave Registry, lists Joseph H. McMath, b. Apr 9, 1848,d. Oct 4,1909 in Black Hawk,MS as being in the 22nd. The birth and death dates fit Joseph, but the service records don't.
Is there any way to determine which of these boys is buried in the Black Hawk Cemetery, and can the error, if any, be corrected.
Any assistance greatly appreciated.

YOS,
George McMath
