Request any record of William Wood Porter, formerly of Brownsville, MS, and resident of Santa Rosa, CA at start of the war. ADC to Gen. Crittenden until he was arrested by Gen. Hardee at Iuka April 62, then I have a record of him as an enrollment officer at Camp of Instruction at Brookhaven, MS. Then ADC to Gen. Johnston from May 63 till July 64. Ordered by Gen. Pemberton while at Hazelton to take 2 CO's of MS State Militia Cav and ride on the rear and flanks of Col. Grierson's Raiders. Led a CO. of the 50th TN Inf. at Battle of Raymond. ADC to Gen. Hood. Surrendered at Citronella, AL with Gen. R. Taylor, 5 May 65.

He is in old rural cemetery at Santa Rosa and an attraction on my civil war tour there.
