Killed in action records

My ggmother's first husband was killed in the WTBS. I have been trying to find out when and where. His name was Milton Scott and he served in the 12th Mississippi Infantry. Can anyone give me any ideas as to where to look.

Also, there is a grave of a CS officer in a rundown, overgrown cemetary right off the Natchez Trace in Claiborne County, Mississippi. I have a book that lists most of the cemetaries in Claiborne Co., but this one is not listed in it. This officer either was from Missouri or served in a Missouri Unit. If anyone living close to this grave site would like directions to it please contact me.

Hal
