Correction, should have read more carefully. Looks like the color guard was posted to the left of the right center company and became a part of that company. That company was the 3rd company as determined by the rank of the company captains. Would that have always been Company C? Looks like that could have changed after every battle. Perhaps in practice Company C did become the right center company - thus the "Color Company". Can anyone expand on this?
