Can you tell me anything about Charlotte filing for his pension in Florida? To my knowledge she and John George never lived there together but that might explain a few gaps I've encountered.
Amanda Joyner was Liford's second wife and he married her in Marion County, FLorida about 1876-1877 after Charlotte divorced him in Altanta. Are you sure the pension was not filed by Amanda?

Also, what info do you have that suggests that he was in Mississippi? We've always heard he went to Tifton, Georgia.

I have evidence that he was very much alive and well up until 1880. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Georgia Carr
