From info gathered from family researchers, census records, Bible records, and obituary, John B. Wise of Company C, 2nd MS Regiment was born 9 August, 1837 in Monroe County, MS and died 8 January, 1929 in Saline County, Arkansas.

He was the son of William and Isabel Wise, this family is enumerated in the 1840 & 1850 Monroe County (MS) Census and enumerated in the 1860 Polk County, Arkansas Census.
