I can say positively that Samuel Matthews is not buried in a marked grave and, to be frank, there is absolutely way to know whether he rests today in an Unknown grave in the McGavock Cemetery, or as I mentioned in my earlier post, whether his original grave on the battlefield was among those which were not found in the spring of 1866.
