Wirt Adams claims in his official report on May 13th that he rode to Raymond with his entire force of 800 men under orders from General John Gregg and participated in the rearguard action to Mississippi Springs.

Does anyone have any firsthand accounts of Wirt Adams showing up in time to help John Gregg retreat from Raymond?
