I understand from one of my cousins who was raised in Wiggins that this paper had published a series of articles on the Civil War in about 1965-67. She says that one of the articles included a copy of a letter from or information on a McQuagge when he was with his unit in Texas.

She wrote me that "the story....told to me by my father was (that) his unit was on (the) march in Texas (when) he became very ill and could not continue so he dropped out of line. The last letter was from Texas. I remember reading it so I know it was him in Texas..."

She may have been off on the dates of the articles. Does anyone have access to this series of articles who could look this up for me or send the relevant one to me?
