Dear George:
To my knowledge I am not aware of any genealogical connection to the Arnolds of Mississippi. My grandfather and g-grandfather were named George H. Arnold, both natives of Rhode Island. Our ancestral lines do show that we are distantly related to Benedict Arnold, of the Revolutionary War, and our current president George Bush. Are you related to either of them?
My only Southern connection is that I married a Southerner, Terry G. Scriber, of Louisiana. Terry often tells me that my ancestors, who served with the 7th Rhode Island Infantry, fought his grandfather at Vicksburg, MS. I think my love for Mississippi may be due to a "spiritual connection", as opposed to a "family connection". I look forward to hearing back from you.
