Mitch as near as I can tell Cyrus enlisted Aug. 30, 1864, Brookhaven. His name is on a card dated Nov. 24, 1863 to Aug 31, 1864. The enlistment date is shown on this card. The name is clearly shown as Cyrus. The only other card I have for him shows that he (C.L. Oliver)surrendered at Citronelle, 1865 That would be my grandfather Cornelius L. Oliver, Cyrus was dead by this time.

Now to throw a monkey wrench into all of this, I have a letter from the Mississippi Baptist Commision stating that Rev. C.L. Oliver died Oct, 13, 1862. This cannot be Cornelius since he was not born until 1849. To date no grave or location of death has been found for Cyrus.

Another brother, Thomas also served in Moorman's Batt. but I only have a cover sheet on him, no enlistment date. It would bemy guess they all enlisted abouyt the same time, August of 1864.
