I have the service records of an "N.J. Smith" who was listed in Company B, 3rd MS infantry. But this man was severely wounded at the Battle of Peachtree Creek and died in a Macon hospital four days later. This can't be Nimrod Smith from this area, obviously. But it's got me wondering who N.J. Smith is and I wish I had access to those hospital records.
