I never knew there was a railroad tunnel in Mississippi, but one is mentioned in the reports of the destruction of the Southern Railroad from Jackson to Meridian. I found Tunnel Hill near Meridian and it looks to be the spot but I guess the tunnel has been removed. The Sherman's men only gave it light damage. Does anybody know the history of this?
