I am working on genealogy research for Richard May. My information so far has Richard May born approximately 27 August 1831 served as a private in 39th Infantry Company F Simpson County, Mississippi. It is believed he died with measles in the War and was buried in Port Gibson. I would like to find out his parents names and hope that his wife, Artie Missy Coburn or Artemissia applied for a widow's pension. Can anyone help with confirming his parents names or more information about his service in the war?
