I was reading the reports of a scout, who claimed that on McPherson's demonstration against Canton in October, 1863, he captured a Confederate Colonel near Livingston.
The scout was moving just ahead of the federal forces, and spied a Confederate Colonel entering a house on the road. The scout and his men surrounded the house and captured the Colonel, who was attempting to do a little scouting of his own by changing into civil clothes (presumably, it was his own house??).
Does anyone know of any Confederate Colonels from the Livingston area, specifically any that would have been involved in the area during October 1863?
