The Edward G. Gerdes Civil War Home Page is certainly one of the best around, but its primary focus is Arkansas. Organizations from other states are not listed unless at least some number of soldiers came from Arkansas.

For the most part, Confederate military authorities used partisan ranger units like any other cavalry commands. As you can see in the history page, Col. Ballentine's regiment was assigned to duty with other Confederate cavalry units.
