I am looking for any new information re: my ancestor Lemuel H Hall, MD, who was from Hernando, Miss in DeSoto County.

He enlisted in 1861 as a Surgeon, and finished the War as a Brig General in 1865.

The only battle I am sure he was in is Ft Donelson, TN.
Supposedly, he was captured there {and also several other places}, then later exchanged for Union prisoners.

For part of the War he was a Regimental Surgeon in Company D of the 9th Mississippi Infantry. I found no record of the Miss 9th Infantry being in the Battle of Ft Donelson, so I imagine he was in another unit at that point.

I would like to exchange info with anyone who may have had a family member in the 9th Mississippi Infantry or any other part of the Miss CSA Army.
