Ellison Confederates

I'm posting this because I had someone interested in these Ellisons who are possibly decendants that were on the Mississippi board. Anyone who knows anymore on the history of these men would you let me know? Also, I can provide directions to this cemetery in Chilton County, AL.

John Ellison

Josiah H. Ellison
(memorial stone)
25th ALA INF, Co. C, Private
Josiah died at the Battle of Shiloh
on April 6, 1862 and was buried
in a mass grave on the battlefield.

On January 19, 2008 at 1:00 pm we will be holding a dedication ceremony for these men.
The reenactors from the 31st Alabama Infantry and the Alabama Battery (cannon) will be joining us and the ceremony will be conducted by the Chilton County chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

If you plan to attend please bring a lawn chair for any family members who need to sit during the ceremonies. The cemetery is very accessible, you can drive right up to it and there is only a one foot "step up" into the cemetery itself which is pretty flat and wide.
