Thumbnails often contain statements that are a bit misleading. For instance, the battalion was never at Citronelle AL, nor did any member muster out on May 4, 1865. General Taylor concluded surrender agreements for his command at Citronelle on that date. After his return to the army, orders were read to the troops in the following days and they marched to agreed upon assembly points to receive paroles. Officers and men still present with the command marched to Meridian MS to stack arms and receive paroles.
