There were also two other M. Scotts. However, I would believe your man is Milton of the 12 Mississippi.

The Film No. Geo. Purvis pointed out is the Mississippi index. His records will be found in M269 "Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who Served in Organizations From the State of Mississippi," Roll 208

His name does not appear in the list of Confederate dead at the Confederate cemetery in Vicksburg.
