Family legend says Daniel died of measles at Meridian. He was in the 7th but left and went to Co. I, 3rd Miss. According to those records, Daniel died July 24, 1863.

I am not sure if the 7th was in the Battle of Booneville, but according to Daniel's 7th records he was discharged from the 7th July 17, 1862 for a "disability." I would suppose this is a result of the wound he received at Shiloh.
