My great-grandfather Private William Monroe Henry served with the 24th MS Infantry Co B was shot in the head at the Battle of Lookout Mountain Tennessee in 1963 and was taken as a prisoner of War to Rock Island, Illinois until the exchange of prisoners at the end of the war. My grandmother Birdie Henry Britt died in 2001 and I wonder if she as the last daughter of the Confederacy.
