MS Conf. Grave Registry-- question for Mr Purvis

Mr Purvis,
I saw you post for another about the MS Confederate Graves registry and wonder what you can tell me about it. I looked up my 2gr-grandfather Cyrus McDonald Rape. Here is the background. The family stories have him buried near Boyd, AL- This board has shown me they weren't anywhere near there --but since other family is, the stories are probably mixed up. Then a cousin went to the archives in Jackson and tried to find out some info on him for me since although he wasn't related directly, our families are tied together several times. He found someone at the archives that showed him a hospital record that Cyrus McDonald Rape died in a hospital (of disease) in Rienze, MS in May 1842. Now to my actual question, where did the info on the graves registry come from because the person that is buried at the Salem church cemetery really is C. D. Rape ---that is Christianne Dorcas (Graham) Rape wife of Cyrus McDonald Rape. This is a known fact to those of us in the family. She is buried there along with her parents, many siblings and their families, and her youngest son and many of his children. Obviously someone was trying to be helpful but an error has been made, what is the source of the registry and perhaps I can find a person that can correct, note or otherwise make sure to the best of ability that the error isn't perpetuated.
