Tks, Alan. I'm trying to establish (if I can) the correct name/spelling and home for broader bio purposes than the CSR usually affords (e.g., to locate in family context in the 1850/1860 census). Don't know if I have the correct person. Search feature here and generally had not turned up many hits on the regt, and none on G company (which might have been a clue to the man's own origin). I hoped that someone with access to the roster might provide some steerage for further research on my part.
