Re: Tupelo CSA hospital A.N. Blunt 7th Miss.

I just received my G=grandfather, Carr Coleman of 7th Mtd. Inf. Co. I, pension record. He states that he was 'prostrated by heat in the Harrisburg, Miss. fight." Then said, "Was in hosptal at Tupelo, Miss. 15 days."

My G-G-Grandfather, John G. Bowden, was killed at Harrisburg. The family has an oral tradion of saying that his body "came back and they would not allow him to be buried in the local church cemetery because he was a Mason." Wouldn't this be odd for his body to be return home after that fight?
