In the Mississippi Confederate grave registration index, there is a listing for a James H. Goode who served in the 2nd Tennessee Infantry. He is listed as being born in 1844 in Tishomingo County, and died in 1928 in Tishomingo County. While the date of birth does not seem to match your James Goode, the information on birth date and death date were supplied by the family and are often inaccurate. The actual grave registration cards are on microfilm at the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, and copies can be made.
