The last name may have been Jefferies or Jeffries instead of Jeffers. The name was changed when my great-great grandfather, Osburne's son, moved his family to Arkansas. From what I can gather, there was a big scandal involving my great-great-great grandfather and he was asked to leave his plantation around Vicksburg. I am not sure where he could have gone, but I do know he was supposed to have served in the Civil War in Mississippi around Vicksburg. Please let me know if the change in spelling helps. I forgot about this in my original message. I googled the name and this sight was listed with some very familiar names, so I can only assume someone on this sight is related to this part of the family. Can you tell me who started the thread Thomas,Osburne,Caroline,Missouri,Cason Jeffers. This is what was listed when I googled the name Osburne Jeffers.
